The Transformer is currently available for $399 and ASUS has stated that they are happy with the tablet feedback they received thus far. Shen also spilled the beans about the Transformer 2 and that it will cost $499, which is $100 more than the original. Seriously, I think it's a fair deal because the Transformer 2 is expected to come with a quad-core processor, Ice Cream Sandwich, 10-inch touchscreen display, and a lot of other stuff.

Positioning the Transformer and Transformer 2 as high end products could be a way to avoid the freight train momentum that Kindle Fire is building. Time will tell if Shen's take on this is accurate.
